Date?
[edit]When, approximately, was this tract written? Srnec (talk) 20:43, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
The seventh century. The author of the edition (McLeod) argues (at p 112) that the bulk of the Old Irish text of DAC was compiled prior to the compilation of the Senchas Már. The compilation of the Senchas Már has since been dated to 'roughly between 660 and 680' (Liam Breatnach, The Early Irish Law Text Senchas Már and the Question of its Date, E.C. Quiggin Memorial Lectures 13, Department of Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic, University of Cambridge, 2011, page 42). McLeod (p 112) suggests that following the compilation of the SM, passages from it were inserted into the text of DAC.Lewel Camdewel (talk) 07:19, 1 October 2017 (UTC)
