Editorializing
[edit]"Quapaw oral history describes that the first separation occurred at the confluence of the Mississippi and the Missouri Rivers. This was stated to Thomas Nuttall in the early 1800s as well as others. In addition, the Ponca also state this, see "Walks on the Earth" by Headman. Just because one ethnographer theorized it was at the confluence on the Mississippi and the Ohio does not make it an accurate statement."
This paragraph could use some citations. Additionally, the last sentence strikes me as veering too much into editorializing for an encyclopedia entry. If the author means that different oral traditions place the separation elsewhere, then they should be included here. 2600:1700:7720:A170:BDCF:408F:E99:E805 (talk) 00:17, 10 December 2023 (UTC)
