Mission
[edit]Copyrighted content (school mission) is cited, and indented as a quote. Andrew Jameson (talk) 15:07, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
- As far as copyright is concerned, mission statements are like logos: change the wording, and you're misrepresenting the original, and if they're the kind of thing we're trying to include, they're definitely fair use. As far as importance to an encyclopedia article, mission statements are like fight-song lyrics: important to the people involved, but almost never important to a general encyclopedia article. I can imagine a mission statement becoming a source of controversy, or unaffiliated parties writing about the mission statement, or other situations where it's seen as important by outsiders, but unless that happens, I don't believe that we need to be including the mission statement.
