NPOV

[edit]

I have just taken out from this article various sections which do not appear to meet the Wikipedia Neutral point of View (NPOV) criteria. There are still some bits which I feel need further work, and it definitely needs additional sources than the events own web site. Please feel free to improve the article or discuss it further here. Also, some photos of the event might be useful.

Seeking a third opinion

[edit]

Following further discussion with Willj1, I have asked for a third opinion on this article, as I believe it needs further work to bring it to a useful standard in wikipedia terms

The requeste is listed in Wikipedia:Third opinion.

Please feel free to add to the discussion if you can. Regards, Lynbarn (talk) 13:07, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Detling Summer Conference. For the past few days, I have been discussing this article with Willji - an apparently relatively new wiki editor who, whilst he does appear to have first-hand knowledge of the subject, doesn't seem to understand my reasoning for making changes, and has repeatedly reverted my edits, including a tag I applied asking for additional input from the relevant project/ortal. We have had some discussion on his talk page, but I feel that any further intervention from me will not be seen as possitive by Willij1, and I do not want to cause any further difficulties for what I believe to be an honest and well-meaning, but inexperienced new wikipedian. I would appreciate any intervention from other editors who can help to bring this new article up to a reasonable standard. Regards, 13:01, 30 May 2008 (UTC)"

Lynbarn's edits should remain. The english is smoother, and he correctly places [citation needed] tags where needed. I'm at a loss to understand Willj1's reasons for deleting the edits. On his talk page, he says on matters of fact you can rest assured?? On wikipedia, matters of facts need citations.--Work permit (talk) 05:57, 31 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have spent the past half hour trying to clean up this article a little bit and add some more information on it. I am also currently trying to find sources for various facts. Having been at the event this year, I have a couple of pictures, however nothing which would be suitable for this particular article. AlanWCollins (talk) 16:32, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

I'm on a bit of wiki break, but I thought I would add these references:

Using these references as sources, I've rewriten the article, trying to remove POV stuff and summerizing what these sources say. I've removed some stuff as WP:CRYSTAL. I've removed the tags as I believe I've solved the problems. If you disagree by all means put them back on, but please give details on this page. Edgepedia (talk) 19:49, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
