Dylan
[edit]Hey, just thinking about the Dylan reference thingy (Desolation Row) under 'References in popular culture'... I took it out because it seemed like speculation, or OR, or something, but Nathan D 016 put it back in again, with no edit summary, and a slight change in wording. So basically I'm wondering whether it really belongs there, and if there's a clear link (I think the song quotes the book at least once, right?), then maybe we could get a citation (although I don't know where from), and it'd all be cool? If no one replies to this or adds info to the article in a week or so I'll take it out again. Hysteria18 21:39, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
A citation could be the Bob Dylan encyclopedia. It's definitely true. There's On The Road - On The Road Again, The Subterraneans - Subterranean Homesick Blues, Visions of Gerard - Visions of Johanna to name a few others for proof it's no coincidence. --86.140.152.201 (talk) 19:09, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Gregory Corso
[edit]Because it is mentioned that there is a line where "Gary" is not changed to "Japhy" in The Dharma Bums Wikipedia page, I also added a similar mistake that takes place in Desolation Angels: In an oddity, partway through Chapter 91, there is this line: "'Who wants to ride freight trains!' -Gregory- 'I dont dig all this crap where you ride freight trains and have to exchange butts with bums-'" Somehow both Kerouac and the editors missed that "Gregory" was not changed to "Raphael". 71.53.24.66 (talk) 20:10, 23 July 2009 (UTC)ADVENT
