As a suprelorin implant, it's used in pet chickens to stop egg production and therefore treat egg-laying malfunctions that would otherwise kill the bird (repeated prolapses, internal laying, etc). I've just had my second rescued ex-battery hen implanted for internal laying. It's the only way short of surgical spaying to treat egg yolk peritonitis caused by internal laying.
