Origin of prepay method

[edit]

The origin of prepay may be misleading. The article says: "Henry J. Kaiser.... His idea was to take a nickel a week out of each man's paycheck to prepay...." While KP.org in reference [5] says: "Enter Harold Hatch, an engineer-turned-insurance agent. Hatch suggested that the insurance companies pay Dr. Garfield a fixed amount per day, per covered worker, up front....Thus, “prepayment” was born." JKorpi77 (talk) 10:06, 29 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There seem to be issues throughout this section. The Seven Companies vs. The Six Companies, Colorado River Aqueduct vs. Los Angeles Aqueduct The source article, citation 4, seems to be taken from The Permanente Journal which can be accessed on Pubmed.[1]. Another source of the Hatch version of events is this article also available from Pubmed.[2] Someone will need to do some research into which aqueduct program was occurring in Desert Center in 1933 since the timelines don't seem to line-up.Uri10iru (talk) 22:10, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Abandoned?

[edit]

When was the last time any of the authors visited Desert Center? This YouTube video shows the town is completely abandoned now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WotEYr52h2s — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8803:FF02:0:9CFB:B8DB:4D19:CEC2 (talk) 15:21, 3 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Entire town sold.

[edit]

According to this article the entire town was bought by a business owner in July of 2021. Is this worthy of being added to the page?
