The result of the move request was: MOVED to Derby (French car) (non-admin closure) Danski454 (talk) 17:21, 13 March 2019 (UTC)
Derby (automobile) → Derby (French automobile) – There is also Derby (Canadian automobile) and Volkswagen Derby. All three are defunct, so it seems odd for any of them to be the primary topic of the term for purposes of this disambiguator. bd2412 T 22:23, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. As with Derby (film), which should redirect to Derby (disambiguation)#Films, the incomplete disambiguation Derby (automobile) should redirect to Derby (disambiguation)#Brands and enterprises. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 07:03, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Obvious easy quick support but @BD2412: any reason why you brought this to RM rather than WP:MOVE/technical move? In ictu oculi (talk) 07:15, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- In my experience, sometimes things that seem uncontroversial end up stirring a hornet's nest. I should mention that I am also contemplating whether Derby itself really has a primary topic, and came across this and the films issue while examining that question. bd2412 T 12:32, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Prefer Derby (French car) – Using 'automobile' as a disambiguator is unnecessarily verbose, and contradicts WP:CONCISE. Not to mention, the main article was moved to car from automobile years ago. RGloucester — ☎ 14:18, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
- Support Derby (French car) Per RGloucester, other than topics like Plymouth (automobile) where automobile is more common, we should follow the main article (Car) in the case of Derby (Canadian automobile) I suspect that like Plymouth, "automobile" is more common for that topic so should be OK as is however since both are cars/automobiles we can't move Derby (Canadian automobile) to Derby (automobile).
