Article's title

[edit]

The title of this article should be Department of Space, Government of India or Department of Space of the Indian Government, as that is what this article is about. Agreed, the article mentions all such details in the body text, but the title itself should be accurate. The current title suggests that the article is about some general "Department of Space" that is not owned or controlled by a higher government authority. It may lead some readers to think that the article is about some international department, etc.

I had changed the title once, but it was reverted to older version by User:BigJolly9. --EngineeringGuy (talk) 01:34, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What is the extent of "accuracy" you want? Should we include full postal address also of their main office? Why will it mislead readers into thinking something else? Aren't they reading it? Please read Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Deciding_to_disambiguate on what pages need disambiguation in their title. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 08:40, 13 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You are being unnecessarily sarcastic. (If not, and if your first question is sincere, then the answer is: "No, there is no need to include the full postal address in the title. Not that I even suggested it.") Disambiguation is required whenever, for a given word or phrase on which a reader might search, there is more than one existing Wikipedia article to which that word or phrase might be expected to lead. But what I am talking about is not disambiguation. I was talking about the correct labeling or identification of the article through a proper title. "Department of Space" seems overly generic, and may suggest that the article is about some global department which may not be under any higher authority, which is clearly not the case here. Just mentioning the authority of the Government of India in the introduction does not solve the problem of an improper title. As examples: when you search for "Department of State" or "Department of Commerce", the results redirect to the articles about the U.S. government departments in each case. No disambiguation is required, as those are the things that most readers may be searching for. But still, those articles are titled as "United States Department of State" and "United States Department of Commerce", respectively. This ensures that the title correctly identifies the article's content. Here, too, a correct title would imply that this department is the Indian Department of Space. Something like Department of Space (India) may be a better title. --EngineeringGuy (talk) 20:20, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Dharmadhyaksha is correct, we do not disambiguate for the sake of disambiguation. The title as it stands now does not imply that it is supranational agency. If for example JAXA had oversight by a Department of Space we would locate the Japanese example at Department of Space (Japan) and Department of Space would be a DAB page. However since there is no other Department of Space, there is no reason to move this article to Department of Space (India). --kelapstick(bainuu) 15:46, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Budget Moved from ISRO to Department of Space Page

[edit]

The budget which was shown in ISRO belongs to Department of Space, so it should be included here and not in ISRO page.
