Gedunin

[edit]

The chemical structure of gedunin; notice the two solid black wedge bonds on the oxan-2-one cyclohexane (furthest six member ring to the right under shaded/striped wedge bond connecting five member ring; i.e. cyclopentane) that turn into an unsaturated double bond without an oxygen on Deoxygedunin. The technical term would be that gedunin is the epoxide of deoxygedunin. Presumably the steroid skeleton is oriented such that the epoxide will form with the oxygen preferentially on one side. Sekio (talk) 05:47, 15 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
