Lead
  • First line, "Denny M. Bautista Germán (born August 23, 1980) is Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the former Hanwha Eagles of the Korean Baseball Organization." two errors there. "a Dominican…" Also I checked the Hanwha Eagles Twitter page and it looks very much like they are still the Hanwha Eagles.
  • "The Florida Marlins signed him in 2000 but traded them to the Baltimore Orioles before Bautista reached the major leagues." who does "them" refer to?
  • The first instance of ERA in the lead should be linked
  • "He resigned with Pittsburgh in 2009" resigned or re-signed?

This article is full of statistics and jargon and therefore the prose is really difficult to read, even offputting. A formal review follows.

GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)

Unfortunately the prose in this article is not close to GA standard at this time. Particularly the first seven paragraphs (the first half of the article) is difficult to read, even offputting. Only one reference in the "Florida Marlins organization", for example, is not a stats table, which has clearly impeded the development of the article to this point. Other references are from reliable sources, so meet the criteria.

  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose, no copyvios, spelling and grammar): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
The lead contains a few things it possibly shouldn't, detailed at the top of this review.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (reference section): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
"Cougars win their first Midwest League title.[5][6]" the ref doesn't fully support this. Some of the other references are offline, so good faith is assumed.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
Readability severely impaired as noted above.
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free content have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
Good use of images despite there not being one of the actual subject.
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
Taking a look at other baseball player Good Articles, such as Héctor López may help to get a feel for the right kind of prose. It would be worthwhile to take the article to peer review in advance of a future GA nomination.
