Need improvement; need secondary sources, not just Banks' autobiography and AIM website.Parkwells (talk) 03:09, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Checking birth records in MN is Original Research - how do you know those are his children, and not children of someone else named Banks? Who is the mother(s)?Parkwells (talk) 03:09, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The entire section on the trials over Anne Mae's murder have nothing to do with Dennis. Why are they here?

Also, when you repeat things people have said about others, like Leonard Peltier, you should say that these are allegations which are yet unproven. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.99.187.168 (talk) 23:33, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Dennis Banks/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

Longer than stub length, needs infobox, has adequate content and sources. Leofric1 (talk) 15:32, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Section on education needs expansion

[edit]

The section on the education of Dennis Banks could be expanded. It was mentioned on BBC Radio Four's "Last Word" tonight that he went to a boarding school but ran away from school many times, and joined the air force at the age of seventeen. Vorbee (talk) 20:49, 19 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

Banks was an activist and public figure for years, involved with numerous other public figures. These activities and events were extensively covered in media and books, and this article needs more substantive sources about him. and the people around him.

clarification about marriages

[edit]

The timeline is very unclear...two of his marriages, those with Jeanette Banks and Darlene Nichols, appear to be contemporaneous. Clean Copytalk 17:37, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Banks Early Life

[edit]

It says his mother abandoned him here and that he was raised by his grandparents, this is false. He says so him self in his Documentary "A Good Day to Die" that he lived in poverty with his mother tell he was taken away to boarding school, and that when he turned 15 he ran away with a bunch of other natives back to home where his mother cried upon his return and made him his favorite apple pie. — Preceding unsigned comment added by D.S.NativeAmerican (talkcontribs) 01:40, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ordered to kill

[edit]

This article says

During this period, in 1956 he was ordered to shoot to kill anti-base protesters during the Sunagawa Struggle. The events had a profound influence on him.

It does not say whether he obeyed or disobeyed the order or what the consequences were. That should be here. 2601:449:8302:1080:0:0:0:B18F (talk) 18:37, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
