Wikidata
[edit]Can't work out to edit it - and I think it's a ridiculous idea that we now have to edit an external site to update the infobox. Can someone more technically savvy please add 'Belgian Congo' to his place of birth? GiantSnowman 14:42, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- Done
The German Institute for Medical Mission (DIFAEM)?
[edit]Does anyone have more recent information, or at least a more recent citation, for what charity is funding him? The current citation is a decade old. (CoI: A friend has been doing similar work.)

- Or more generally about any properly-auditied charity doing this kind of work?

Query re Reversion
[edit]Dear fellow Wikipedians,
I recently made a correction that was rolled back, and I am trying to determine why.
In the section "Career", first paragraph, the sentence had been quite unclear and grammatically incorrect. I corrected this. If I unintentionally changed the meaning of the sentence, then please correct this, rather than making it wrong again!
The goal is clarity and correctness, not control.

- Change “16:33, 15 October 2018 Outriggr” suggests that this has been corrected.

To add to article
[edit]To add to this article: mention of the threats against Mukwege's life made in 2020. 173.88.246.138 (talk) 00:53, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
I am planning on making some changes to the article about Dr. Mukwege in the coming week. I plan on adding a section about the City of Joy because it is an integral part of his work. I also plan on editing the lead section and adding information as well as cleaning up grammatical errors. There is some key information about Dr. Mukwege and his work that is missing from the lead section including the attempt against his life, his efforts to bring international attention to the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war in the DRC, and Dr. Mukwege's position as an activist for human rights and gender equality both within the DRC and internationally. I also plan to rephrase some sentences, particularly in the section about Mukwege's early life and education, but also throughout the page as needed to increase the page's clarity and further readers understanding. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Algburt (talk • contribs) 03:19, 7 December 2020 (UTC)

Denis Mukwege (born 1955) is a gynaecologist and Pentecostal pastor who specializes in the treatment of women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo who have been raped by armed rebels. He has treated thousands of women who were victims of rape as a weapon of war since the Second Congo War, some of them more than once, performing up to ten operations a day during 17-hour working days. In 2018, Mukwege and Iraqi Yazidi human-rights activist Nadia Murad were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for "their efforts to end the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war and armed conflict". ABORTION word missing in entire article
[edit]In the case of Denis, I cannot endorse nor condone the use of abortion in his clinical support. But I remain disturbed that this very word "abortion" is not present. WP needs to present the facts. § — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6C48:7006:200:B056:6066:1296:EF0B (talk) 00:43, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
Lead
[edit]I am swapping paras 2 and 3 in the lead around. Please discuss before reverting. The second para in the new form follows on from the first better; it describes the work for which the subject is known and for which he received the Nobel Prize (all mentioned in the first para). I am not sure that the new third para should be in the lead at all. Any thoughts? All the best, Emmentalist (talk) 18:35, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
