Is anyone actively editing/watching here?

I have just edited the data regarding self-identifying as Welsh to reflect the sourced data more accurately. It looks to me like this article actually needs a fair bit of work - I'll add it to my to do list, and hopefully I'll get chance to come back and look at it more thoroughly soon. If anyone has any particular views or ideas as to what they'd like to see done with this article, I would love to hear them. Elvie (talk) 23:47, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

The article is just a list of facts at the moment, and needs to be rewritten into a narrative, perhaps with a few more charts and maps. More historical context would help. We're also missing things such as infant mortality, life expectancy, net migration, population projections... there's a lot of data on the Assembly Government's Stats Wales website but it takes time to assemble it all.--Pondle (talk) 10:30, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the input, Pondle. I was thinking along similar lines. I shall try and get to work on this in the next couple of weeks. Elvie (talk) 22:34, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

False data

The ethnicity data for 2001 is incorrect, the population wasn't 2.3 million, but 2.9 million.--Kohelet (talk) 23:42, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

Suggest you support your statement by providing a suitable verifiable source, otherwise your contention is just that.Tmol42 (talk) 00:05, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
The source is in the article about Wales. And overall it wouldn't make sense - the population didn't grow that fast (to 3 million in 2011) in 10 years.--Kohelet (talk) 00:31, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
So the basis of your argument is not a reliable and verifiable source but another Wikipedia article and a feeling you have that it '...wouldn't make sense'. How about checking out what a Reliable Source i.e. ONS reports for the total population of Wales in 2001. See Here. If you look under the tab for Wales you will see what the total population was £2,349,297. Tmol42 (talk) 00:43, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
I saw your source, it must be wrong, because all other sources I found claim the right figure of 2,903,085. --Kohelet (talk) 09:32, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
I have found another source and have reported the table with the other data to the ONS. OK?Tmol42 (talk) 23:23, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Place of birth map

The "born in Wales" map doesn't make sense. More than 70% Welsh born in the border regions of Powys and Flintshire- where people are forced to go to Shrewsbury and Chester for hospital services- and less than 15% in the whole of the Valleys, from Torfaen to the Loughor?

And guess why- it's actually a "born in England" map, as you will see if you click on the image. It seems it was originally uploaded as "born in England" but then changed without checking. Walshie79 (talk) 22:19, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
