The 'Democratic Youth Federation' of India owes it's formation largely to the young Communist leader Comrade Dinesh Majumdar, who eventually became the first President of the Organisation alongwith Comrade Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, now the Chief Minister of West Bengal, as it's founder General Secretary. The D.Y.F.I. became a idiol in front of the other youth organisations who largely were involved in only merricious activities like sports etc. barred from any ideology. D.Y.F.I., on the other hand, boldly declared the organisation as an active youth segment which will work for the formation of a society led by the labour class.

[edit]Isn't the page Democratic Revolutionary Youth Federation just a redirect for this one? Lsjzl 19:18, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- No. DYFI is the youth wing of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). DRYF is the youth wing of the North Bengal splinter-group Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxists. --Soman 10:21, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- OK, thanks Soman! Glad I asked first... just getting to know this place! Lsjzl 12:22, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
Hoodlums
[edit]It is just an organization for hoodlums who act on the orders of Communist Party bosses. In cahoots with SFI,it has been instrumental in holding hostage any educational reforms initiated by the Govt in Kerala sumal 07:09, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
Need the names of the leaders
[edit]The names of the leaders and top brass of the youth movement can be added. Their names are not codified well in the net. Please add. (Niketsundaram1977 (talk) 22:06, 18 May 2008 (UTC))
Cleanup / rephrase.
[edit]Many fancy words like annihilated and "darkest moments" need to be removed. Neutrality problems.
No Original Research policy violation
[edit]Neither DYFI nor CPI(M) claims in their organisational documents, that they are related. DYFI according to their constitution is an independent organisation for Indian youth. There is no mention of a youth-wing organisation called DYFI in CPI(M)'s constitution as well. Therefore, such references in the article must be removed. prp 16:57, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
