Sponsors
[edit]Hi @One Senate Dem:! I just saw that you removed [1] the description of the Democracy Docket sponsors... is there a reason why? It is plainly described on Democracy Docket's own website. Elias and Democracy Docket make no bones about this affiliation. And a new reader would not understand the group if they didn't know that Elias and Democracy Docket represent Democratic Party litigants.
I'm inclined to reinsert it if there's no reason to exclude it. Chris vLS (talk) 04:21, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- I have restored it for now. Given that there's a proposal to delete the page for notability, the role of the group should be made clear. Chris vLS (talk) 10:11, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
Confusing
[edit]Some of the refs mention an advocacy group, Democracy Docket. Some of the refs are about a website, Democracy Docket. It isn't clear whether these are two parts of the same entity or two things with the same name. Schazjmd (talk) 18:33, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
- It's an advocacy group with a website. See this, this, and this. Per this, there's also the "Democracy Docket Legal Fund." We're likely dealing with multiple different entity names under one umbrella, per that NYT article on how such groups are structured to avoid donor disclosure. No, it is not one organization. Democracy Docket is a media platform that publishes content about voting rights, redistricting, and democracy. It is not the same at Democracy Docket Legal Fund, which is a project of a 501c organization. These are two separate and distinct entities. The current description is factually incorrect. If you visit the website you can see clearly what it is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.56.69.166 (talk) 21:09, 2 February 2022 (UTC)
