Discography

[edit]

Hey @Taylorbriggs:, I hope you don't think I'm giving you too much grief. I've run into pushback when trying to cite discography sections in the past. Specifically, I've had issues with some other editors at Steve Terreberry concerning the same thing. I think citing each individual song is unnecessary, but perhaps something like "List adapted from Spotify."<Spotify reference> or Bandcamp at the top could work (like at the Terreberry article). I'm not sure if his whole discography is on either service, so you could also add a reference column to your tables to cite anything not covered by a broad reference like that. Hope this helps, sorry for reverting! Mbdfar (talk) 01:52, 15 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Deer876: please stop adding images that are not correctly licensed/lying and saying you own the copyright. Please see WP:IUPC. If you continue to do so someone might block you per WP:CVREPEAT. Mbdfar (talk) 04:15, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    hey sorry about that - i have written permission from the photographer who took all the photos but every time i try and add them they get taken down - is there any way i can link the permissions note to the photos so they stop getting blocked?
    i have an email but can also get a scan of a written / signed permission if needed
    photog wants their photos used on the page
    let me know thanks - Deer876 (talk) 16:48, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
      • The issue is that you are uploading the file and saying it is your own work and that you own the copyright. If someone else owns the copyright, you need to state that during the upload. You also need to make sure it is licensed under the specific license stated in your email permission. Then follow the directions at COM:VRT. Or just have the photographer upload it themselves. Listing out blow by blow details of release

[edit]

@Mbdfar:, the release being deposited into a table in discography table somewhere would be a neutral presentation but including additional references beyond necessary to fact check wouldn't be neutral point of view presentation. This article have already had a massive load of fluff. Graywalls (talk) 05:47, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
