How do you know that? Doesn't he usually talk to Canadians? That was my experience when dealing with the order of episodes 903 to 906. 117Avenue (talk) 06:14, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll incorporate it like The Simpsons, unfortunately we need a date or production code to place titles and summaries in the table. 117Avenue (talk) 00:05, 2 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Episode sorting

[edit]

should the page say this?

episode 1/2 What A Girl Wants 3/4 Breakaway 4/5 99 problems and so on http://twitter.com/stephenstohn/status/16875390839 http://twitter.com/stephenstohn/status/16875408172 http://twitter.com/stephenstohn/status/16875414541 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.18.167.9 (talk) 18:11, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, they are separate episodes, airing on separate days, just like two-parters from past seasons. 117Avenue (talk) 22:13, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

SEASON 10 RECURRING CHARACTERS

[edit]

The following people should be added on the recurring characters list:

  • Fitz (James Edward Campbell) appeared in Shoot To Thrill, Beat It Part 1, and Heart Like Mine Part 1 & 2.
  • Wesley (Spencer Van Wyck) appeared in Innocent When You Dream.

Both of them appeared in the Carnival Promo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 13curseof (talkcontribs) 18:35, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Degrassi Timeline

[edit]

When was it officially confirmed that Season 10 takes place in the 2010-11 school, instead of the 2008-09 school year? If you are referring to the SAT website Holly J was looking at, that said "2010-2011", then that date should not be take seriously. They have had many dates showed on screen that are wrong, including the episode "High Fidelity, Part 2" where Marco got a text from Spinner that read October 2005, although the episode took place in June 2006. And more recently when Holly J, Declan and Jane explored New York in "Degrassi Takes Manhattan" there were many giveaways that it was filmed in Fall 2009, but the episode took place in Summer 2008.

So until there is an official conformation from somebody who works on the show, or the date is actually said by a character then it is still the 2008-09 school year in the Degrassi world. The SAT test would not be the first continuity error, there have been many throughout Degrassi history, so it can be easily ignored. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GiantStuffedDog (talkcontribs) 05:05, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In season 9 there was an episode on sexting, a term not commonly known in 2008. In Degrassi Takes Manhattan, Bing bird's eye view is shown, and Drake is a famous rapper, both didn't exist in 2008, and as you mentioned, the advertisements seen in Times Square are from when it was filmed. Also, the students are shown with modern cell phones and computers. Many shows use a floating timeline by showing the technology change but the characters not age, it doesn't need to be explicitly said. My question is, why is a Canadian taking an SAT? 117Avenue (talk) 06:37, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Holly J would need to take an SAT test to get into Yale, because it is an American school. Anyways, I know Degrassi has had many continuity and timeline errors, such as the ones you stated above, but a floating timeline would mix up certain events in the series. Just because modern technology is shown doesn't mean the series has to take place in real time, either the writers are leaving the year of the series unsaid, so anybody can think its whatever year they want it to be, or it actually is a certain year, because if the year is never said or confirmed, then that means its still 2008 in Degrassi time, even if they have modern things, it could still be 2008, you would just have to ignore such things like that. Sorry, but little things like this irritate me, and the timeline change would throw many things off, like when did Emma's class graduate 2007 or 2008? Or did J.T. die in 2006, as it says on his tombstone, or in 2007, to accommodate to the new timeline? I would just like a conformation, and also if the ads around New York mean anything in Degrassi time, then that means the movie takes place in Fall 2009, not Summer 2010. As I said, little things like that must be ignored. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GiantStuffedDog (talkcontribs) 08:26, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In The Simpsons season six episode Lisa's Wedding, the summer of 2010 is fifteen years in the future, but in the season twenty-one episode Boy Meets Curl, everyone is the same age and in the same grade in February 2010. Does that mean there are continuity errors? No, a floating timeline is a devise used to explain such problems. As you said, the year of graduation in seasons 7 and 9 can be open to interpretation. 117Avenue (talk) 18:13, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but The Simpsons is a cartoon series, so the characters never age. Although, I feel they are leaving what year it is in the Degrassi world up for debate, because even executive producer Stephen Stohn didn't directly answer the question directy when asked if it was 2008 or 2010. So most likely they are leaving it open. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GiantStuffedDog (talkcontribs) 00:17, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I just watched Breakaway, Part 2, and I saw the shot of the website that you were talking about, I think that confirms the floating timeline theory. Can you reference this discussion with Stohn? 117Avenue (talk) 02:35, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
http://twitter.com/Karasu199/status/19216751321 This was the original question someone asked Stephen, and this http://twitter.com/Karasu199/status/19216751321 was his response. As you see he doesn't officially state what year it is. Also, on screen dates have been proven wrong before, including my example with High Fidelity, Part 2. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GiantStuffedDog (talkcontribs) 03:55, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please try that again? It appears that you linked the wrong URL for the response. Thanks, 117Avenue (talk) 04:26, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about that, here is his response: http://twitter.com/stephenstohn/status/19247043261 —Preceding unsigned comment added by GiantStuffedDog (talkcontribs) 07:36, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, he didn't give you an answer, but I think that a semi-floating timeline is the only explanation of the students aging at half speed. A live action series can have a floating timeline, as explained in the floating timeline article. 117Avenue (talk) 08:38, 23 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fiona doesn't take medication. She drinks champagne. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.4.232.198 (talk) 17:34, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a reliable source for this? Often when episode information is released it is intentionally vague, to surprise the viewer. Intoxication can be called a form of self medication, for someone who is over stressed. 117Avenue (talk) 04:08, 23 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jean-Marc Genereux

[edit]

Would it be all right to add in the "My Body is A Cage" synopsis that So You Think You Can Dance Canada judge Jean-Marc Genereux made an appearance in those episodes of the series as the Dance teacher, M. Menard. I've seen that other well known guest stars like Billy Ray Cyrus, Craig Kielburger and Kevin Smith have been mentioned, so I thought it would be all right to add Jean Marc. I would do it but I am not registered at the moment. Thanks!74.14.183.54 (talk) 21:42, 26 August 2010 (UTC)samusek2[reply]

I don't see why not. 117Avenue (talk) 05:08, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request from Thenchick, 23 October 2010

[edit]

{{edit semi-protected}}

The episode Love Lockdown's summary is wrong. Holly J never broke up with Sav, she just avoided him. Claire acted out by using Eli at the dinner and then dressing against the dress code to get a detention.

Thenchick (talk) 04:09, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about the pronoun ambiguity, I am usually clear about that sort of thing, and I thought it was clear. 117Avenue (talk) 04:21, 23 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Episode Number Cut Down

[edit]

It has recently been confirmed on Twitter that Season 10 will now only have 44 episodes rather than 48. Here's the link to the confirmation: http://twitter.com/stephenstohn/status/29089806661 —Preceding unsigned comment added by GiantStuffedDog (talkcontribs) 05:50, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to take the cited source as being more reliable, as the sources saying 44 are on Twitter. I am guessing the producers are trying to keep the fans surprised when a two hour movie is announced, as if it isn't expected after the last two years. 117Avenue (talk) 15:55, 1 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
