DoD Directive 50000?

[edit]

The statement "The DoD Directive 5000-series set forth a unified approach that all services were to follow" is too vague, and in the incorrect (past) tense. Suggest replacing the "series" with a more specific single reference such as DoD Directive 5000.52, "Defense Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics Workforce Education, Training, and Career Development Program," (which may be current as of Jan 12, 2005), which replaces (cancels and supersedes) earlier directive(s), with similar sounding titles, that pre-date the 1991 DAWIA law. Also, DoD Instruction 5000.66, "Operation of the Defense Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics Workforce Education, Training, and Career Development Program" (which may be current as of Dec 21, 2005), implements that higher-level directive, and superseded earlier "issuances" (manuals). The DoD "Instruction" (formerly a 1991 Directive), DoDI 5000.57, "Defense Acquisition University (DAU)" (may be current as of Dec 18, 2013), is a tertiary issuance, further defining the DAU. A single directive, or a directive along with subsidiary instructions does not comprise a 5000-series of directives. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.183.224.2 (talk) 18:17, 3 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
