UK Defence Journal Article

[edit]

It seems as if this news article has copied this Wikipedia article word for word. I, and a number of other editors wrote most of this before that article was published.

The news article in question was published at 19:00 on 22 March, and last edited 12:36 on the 23 March; per the metadeta.

At 19:00 on 22 March, this WP article looked like this. Whilst at 12:36 on the 23 March, this WP article looked like this.

Judging from how the WP article looked at the time that the UKDJ article was published, it appears that much of the information on the UKDJ article now has clearly been directly copy-pasted from this WP article.

The fact that it was published by someone of apparent stature, and that it said 22nd March, I assumed it was a copyvio of the source. However based on your comment here and a look at the source code it does seem to be the opposite way around. I am sorry for my error. Mark83 (talk) 17:35, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Mark83: No need to apologies, mistakes are made. – SɱαɾƚყPαɳƚʂ22 (Ⓣⓐⓛⓚ) 17:38, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, important to hold my hand up when I make a mistake. On to a practical point, we are now self referencing (i.e. linking to that webpage that has lifted content from this article). Mark83 (talk) 17:41, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Removed. Mark83 (talk) 18:28, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
