Sway of Western Montana
[edit]When the state was founded the Western part of the state recieved many of the pork barrel projects due to the wealth of the Butte and Helena mines. Not a "POV" as you used for removing my edit but a fact. It's in the official state history at the capitol in Helena.
Butte got the School of Mines Missoula got the U of M Galen got the TB hospital Warm Springs got the Mental Hospital Deer Lodge got the Prison Bozeman got the ag school Helena got the capitol Dillon got the teachers college
It's not a point of view. It's a proven fact, Marcus Daly and William Clark as well as boosters of the towns in the Western part of Montana held a large sway over the state hence the cluster of pork barrel projects are located in that 150 mile strip. Billings would later get the women's prison but for awhile the state of Montana was really controlled by Deer Lodge, Missoula, Lewis and Clark, Powell, and Silver Bow Counties. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seattlehawk94 (talk • contribs) 19:35, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit]This was an attempt to indicate why Neal Chase was included in the Notable people section. Jwilsonjwilson (talk) 07:42, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
Re: Gem Kee, Shigeo Nishimura, August Thrasher, Powder River Jack Lee
[edit]I added these to the notable people even though they do not now have their own Wiki pages because I consider them to have been notable in the history of Deer Lodge. If you disagree, let's talk. Please do not just summarily delete their entries as someone did in April. Thanks Jwilsonjwilson (talk) 19:45, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
- Standard practice is to require a link to an existing Wiki article which rather verifies the subject notability. Vsmith (talk) 23:15, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
