The 2002 article by Diane Pucin in the LA Times, a Rough Run, gives a more complete insight into Debbie Heald's life. In addition to schizophrenia, since that time she has suffered Parkinson's and macular degeneration. It is hard to imagine a life disintegrating more completely through no fault of her own.
