There had been a lot of FAN BASED EDITING in Debattama Saha which had led to article being a case of WP:PUFFERY which is strictly against Wikipedian rules and regulations. Plus, PINKVILLA is an UNRELIABLE SOURCE according to WP:RELIABLE. I really appreciate the editors trying to improve the article but that does not meant any other editor is allowed to do FAN BASED EDITING which will make the Wikipedian article seem to be an ad-based article. Thanks--Aleyamma38 (talk) 06:07, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just to comment here on the source, Pinkvilla is on the "avoid list" at WP:ICTF. There isn't any discussion at WP:RSN for this source though. It's definitely a gossipy source, a bit too much on the tabloid side of things, but Pinkvilla shows it with some pretty solid readership. Probably worth another discussion at ICTF and some emphasis on what types of articles would be work from this site. Ravensfire (talk) 13:27, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much Ravensfire, I was not aware of that resource, and that is very helpful. To summarize my points from the discussion on Aleyamma38's Talk page, I had essentially been relying on how the information, which appears to be a review, was republished by MSN, and therefore appeared to be usable. After further discussion and consensus at ICTF, it might make sense to restore it with a more clear attibution about how it is an entertainment website, but from my view, the current consensus appears to be to avoid it for now. However, as noted in the Talk discussion, and after a closer review of the changes, I think the following should be restored:
The information in the lead based on two reliable sources and further supported by the Filmography chart: "...known for playing the roles of Soi/Uma in E Amar Guru Dakshina,..." It is not clear to me why this was deleted, and there appears to be a basis for its inclusion per MOS:LEAD, e.g. The lead serves as an introduction to the article and a summary of its most important contents.
The source for this line in the Early life and education section: "She completed her studies from Don Bosco High School, Silchar and graduated in English Honours from Amity University, Kolkata." No explanation was provided for its deletion, and there appears to be no basis for its deletion.
This information in the Career section: "In 2019, she made Hindi TV debut with Sony TV's Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein as a parallel lead role as Dr. Parineeti Ganguly opposite Mudit Nayar and Simran Pareenja." This is prose-style encyclopedic content that discusses the development of her career, based on a reliable source, so it seems that it should be included.
This information in the Career section: "She both performed and helped choreograph the dance in the promotional video for the show." As discussed on Aleyamma38's Talk page, this is not rewritten content that appears in more than one section; it is additional prose written in a neutral style based on information from a reliable source, so it is not puffery. I believe it adds encyclopedic content about her career and should be restored.
Beccaynr, Furius The RESTORATIONS which I have objected are only and only with respect with the usage of PINKVILLA which I guess have been made clear by Ravensfire.
Aleyamma38, I appreciate your clarification, and I will make the restorations noted above now that it appears we have consensus, and I will not restore the Pinkvilla content. Thank you, Beccaynr (talk) 04:25, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And this * This information in the Career section: "She both performed and helped choreograph the dance in the promotional video for the show." appeared in the Television section not the CAREER SECTION.
