Inaccurate Inaccuracies
[edit]There are some key details that are simply wrong here. First, there is nothing "supernatural" about this movie, so it is not a "supernatural romantic thriller". Then, the "channeling" of the girl (when she seems to connect to Houdini's mother spirit) is revealed to have been faked -herself declares it to her mother near the end. If someone is working on this article, please change it, I don't know when I would be back here. Nazroon (talk) 04:29, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Regarding the section titled "Inaccuracies": although the appendix is on the right side, it’s possible for people suffering from appendicitis to have the pain radiating to the left side of the abdomen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.170.240.6 (talk) 05:33, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
This is explained quite sufficiently in "The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America's First Superhero" by William Kalush and Larry Sloman. The depiction in the movie concurs with factual accounts.
That at the end the "reading" of the girl about Houdini dying after a red-head angel visited him (in reference of the red-head student that punched him) at 12:00 is more than enough to call this a supernatural romantic thriller. Add to that the scene where Houdini watches the clock on the wall and understands the girl's "reading" so he says to his friend that that's his time to go. So, yes, this movie at the end advocates for the paranormal. Lalo Márquez (talk) 20:32, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Historical Inaccuracies
[edit]While the movie is clearly a fictional work, its probably important to point out the parts of the plot for which there is little or no historical evidence to be clear. According to the wikipedia article in this site Harry Houdini did not die immediately after the punches received from the McGill student, and I dont see any reference to a specific psychic and her daughter from Scotland (unless someone can elaborate or point out where this plot may have originated) Mrrealtime (talk) 00:29, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
