Update: Improvements were made, so this will be a pass. ArsenalGhanaPartey (talk) 12:57, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

[edit]
  • "Dean Whitehead (born 12 January 1982) is an English former professional footballer and coach who now coaches at EFL League Two club Port Vale." The section that is bolded seems a bit hard to read.
  • "Whitehead joined his local non-League club Abingdon Town before he signed for Football League club Oxford United in 1999." Which division in the football league? Be more clear.

Club career

[edit]

Oxford United

[edit]
  • "before joining the youth scheme of his local Football League club..." replace "Football League" with something like "professional".
  • "Towards the end of the 2001–02 season, he began playing into a central midfield position." Replace the bolded part with "playing in a central midfield role."
  • "He also scored a free kick on 1 November, to make a 3–1 comeback win over Darlington." Say something else like "He also scored a free kick on 1 November, while helping his team make a 3–1 comeback win over Darlington."

Sunderland

[edit]
  • "By November, he began playing in the right-wing position in an unfamiliar role." Replace that with "By November, he began playing in the right-wing position, a more unfamiliar role."
  • "In the 2007–08 season, Whitehead played in the right-back position against Tottenham Hotspur in the opening game of the season, before sustaining a cruciate knee ligament injury in a match against Wigan Athletic in August, which ruled him out for six months." Add the comma as shown here. (Between "season" and "before".)
  • "...where he started the whole game, in a 7–1 loss against Everton." Replace that with "playing every minute of a 7-1 loss against Everton."
  • "Since returning from injury, he regained his first-team place for Sunderland throughout the season." Remove the bolded part to avoid repetition.

Stoke City

[edit]
  • "Whitehead lost his place in the starting eleven to a resurgent Glenn Whelan, making a number of cameo appearances from the bench." Add a citation here. Also, change "resurgent" to "resurging".

Middlesbrough

[edit]
  • "He made his Middlesbrough debut, where he started the whole game, in a 2–1 loss against Leicester City in the opening game of the season." Remove the bolded part.

Huddersfield Town

[edit]

Coaching career

[edit]
  • "On 25 November, Whitehead and Ricketts were relieved of their duties with the club sat 23rd in League One with just 9 points from a possible 39." Replace "sat" with "sitting".

Personal life

[edit]

Looks Good.

No problem! After these improvements were made, I am now passing this. Congratulations and keep up the good work! ArsenalGhanaPartey (talk) 12:57, 11 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
