General note to the anonymous (and not-so-anonymous) editors of this article
[edit]Hello! It appears that a lot of anonymous editors have been editing this article and have contributed a lot in making it grow. So this short note is directed to you guys. While I find nothing wrong with the edits that you've made, I believe that there's a lot of room for improvement here. Here are some words of advice that I want to give you to help improve this article and (knock on wood) to avoid having this article nominated for deletion.
Please cite your sources. Name them, tell where you got 'em. While I myself am aware who Dean Francis Alfar is, I have concerns about how the information on this article has been placed. At its very worst, another Wikipedia editor might decide that this article could be original research or a vanity article even if it isn't (and personally, I don't think this article is one of these. Still....). Citing your sources will help establish the verifiability of every information in this article, so if you can provide us with your sources, please feel free to do so. The citation guidelines have all the information you need on how to do this.
Also, I have concerns about some of the links on this article: another editor might judge that this article has a potential conflict of interest (for example, the blog links to DFA's wife and daughter), or that it could be an autobiography written in the third person. Not that I'm saying this article falls under these, but be aware that Wikipedia is a global website, and what may be obvious to us in the Philippines may not be apparent to others. Let's help each other out in improving this article to avoid this kind of situation.
And finally...how about signing up for your own account on Wikipedia? =) It's fast and it's free (as in "free beer"), and will be also be for your own good. (For example, if you're using a shared IP, registering an account will help you avoid getting blocked in case someone across the room (i.e. if you're in an internet cafe or school library) vandalizes Wikipedia while you're editing a different article). In addition, registering an account will allow you to keep track of all the articles that you're interested in editing...including this one, if you so wish.
Happy editing! --- Tito Pao 03:28, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
