– Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (television)#Episode and character articles and recently closed discussion, Talk:The Wire (The Wire episode)#Requested move 7 September 2019, the television show name should be in the disambiguation. These are the only two television episodes that share their name with the television series that do not have the television series in the disambiguation. Aspects (talk) 04:32, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose, unnecessary disambiguation. Neither is ambiguous with episodes from other TV shows, which is what that other RM was about. The naming convention appears to be disputed so it would be best to resolve that first before using it as the basis of any page moves. PC78 (talk) 11:10, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
- Naming conventions for disambiguated television episodes are Episode (TV series), unless it needs to be further disambiguated due to the episode title matching some other part of the show, which is why part of the linked requested move should not have been moved to The Wire (The Wire), unlike The Wire (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). Here Deadwood (Deadwood) could also mean the town and Dexter (Dexter) could mean the character besides the series names and should not be at those locations. Examples of this disamambiguation situation is Angel (Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode) and Serenity (Firefly episode). The resquted move episodes are the only two episodes that use episode as the sole disambiguation against the name convention and were moved from the requested move locations to their current locations without explanations. - WP:PRECISION: "
Usually, titles should unambiguously define the topical scope of the article, but should be no more precise than that.
" I think the current titles do that already, and the extra text is not needed to disambiguate with anything. PC78 (talk) 00:56, 20 September 2019 (UTC)

- Support both for WP:RECOGNIZABILITY and for WP:CONSISTENCY with other like articles as the nominator notes. Though I've seen episodes of both Dexter and Deadwood, the current titles were confusing when I first saw them since I didn't know the pilots shared their titles with the series. ╠╣uw [talk] 11:14, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
- I'm going to support as per Huwmanbeing. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 19:20, 24 September 2019 (UTC)
- Support - unlike the incorrect statement above, the section dealing with episode disambiguation at WP:NCTV is not disputed and there is no current discussion even about that subject anywhere on the guideline page. As such, a WP:LOCALCONSENSUS should not be allowed to override community-wide consensus, as there is no valid reason here for an exception. --Gonnym (talk) 11:30, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
