Wikification of city names

In some sections, the cities are listed as city only and Wikified. For example:

Tanglewood Mall: Roanoke

Others are listed city/state and not wikified. Example:

Tanglewood Mall: Roanoke, VA

The Wikified version looks better and eliminates some redundancy. As the header names the state, we don't have to mention the state in every entry. Plus Wikifying the city name lends itself to comparing the mall's doings to how the city is doing, which is quite interesting in itself... SchuminWeb (Talk) 22:23, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

Moved the big list

I moved the big list to List of dead and distressed shopping malls. This way, the factual content about dead malls is separate from the big list of dead malls. SchuminWeb (Talk) 22:38, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

WikiProject Dead malls

Just as a heads-up, I'm currently working on putting all the articles on dead and distressed shopping malls under the umbrella of a WikiProject so that we can better coordinate our efforts in documenting these malls, which I consider to be a strong part of the various areas' local history. American centric

The section "Changes in the retail climate" is 100% USA-Centric. We should get some more examples of what is changing (if anything) in Europe, Asia, etc. As an example, I am currently working in the UAE and it seems that the indoor mall concept is thriving. The name and concept of a "Dead Mall" is entirely American. The confused and convoluted sentence "In many countries (such as Australia), the cyclical gross surpluses of rent-able retail space have not been as profound as they have been in the US. Therefore similar terminology has not yet evolved in Commonwealth English" is therefore entirely pointless. Incidentally the term is English, or standard English, rather then Commonwealth English.Royalcourtier (talk) 08:17, 24 September 2014 (UTC)
