Error of which
[edit]On the IE/UK Season 1 box, for the episode "Rest in Peace" it says its George's 1st anniversary. Is this correct? Cause if it is, wouldn't they have passed Halloween by in the 1st Season, meaning that even if they don't show it, George should already have known about the face thing. Is this a box error, or a plot error? - RedHotHeat 19:02, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
I think its a plot hole, its common shows with short runs or large gaps between airdates, a couple episode of "Firefly" have had plot holes. - Pinkfloydfan 23:23, 09 January, 2006
"Der Waffle Haus" joke
[edit]Do we have a source for the following statement?
- This is generally considered as a deliberate joke by the writers, since the original script had the names "Das Waffle Haus".
The phrase "generally considered" makes this sound like a fan speculation, not a documented fact. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 15:30, 5 October 2005 (UTC)
"Recently"
[edit]The article features the word "recently" numerous times, but considering the series has been cancelled a while ago, it doesn't seem like the right word anymore. I think better would be "later in the series" or something similar. Retodon8 12:58, 6 November 2005 (UTC)
Petition
[edit]Removed 19 Dec 2005.
70.110.142.239, a similar (or the same) link was added a while back, and IIRC, the consensus was to keep it off the encyclopedia page (article).
There is also a petition going on at http://www.petitiononline.com/dlm1218 to continue the show
--Christopherlin 01:06, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- The petition is futile. Despite being an amazing show, I don't think the show will ever come back in the same form. If the reruns build up a larger fan base, a similar show may come back like Star Trek did. Just look at all the variation of CSI shows, the Charlie's Angel come backs, the same theme can be done with a different team of grim reapers with a different story line. I guess one big factor is that the original DLM was on ShowTime which is a premium channel and the fan base was limited. Now it is rerun on SciFi channel which is also cable TV not available to all audience. If this show starts to be rerun on the syndicate including those broadcast-over-the-air local channels, then there would be a slight chance the fan base would build up to a critical mass. December 2005 cleanup tag

Peanut Poppies
[edit]It says on the main page that Roxy is probably a Southerner because of her passion for Peanut Poppies. Wasn't she given thePeanut Poppies by the guy she had a Post-It for a year later and then stopped his death by breaking in to his house and cutting the power?Pinkfloydfan 03:27, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
- And if you listen to the VO it is stated that Peanut Poppies were especially popular in certain southern states. Icundell 11:52, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
- That may be true, but the voice over says that the guy Roxy was ticketing got them from his mother in south on birthdays and holidays. Pinkfloydfan 15:28, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
- But the implication is about where she got the taste for them. Icundell 17:45, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
- The implication to me was actually that she got her fondness for them from when he gave her some. 08:21, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

How did the series end?
[edit]Did this series end abruptly? Like being cancelled by the network unexpectedly? Like having a cliff hanger in the last episode of the season but never returned in the next season? I watched the first season, but not the second after I cancelled subscription to Showtime. I thought the show was pretty interesting and it should have lasted more than two seaons. Kowloonese 02:53, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- Not exactly a cliffhanger. But to put it simply, No, it didn't finish properly. It left a large amount of loose-ends, but didn't exactly have a cliffhanger (actually the last episode created quite a few loose ends itself!). - RHeodt 20:20, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the answer. Creating loose ends serves as a mild form of cliffhangers, it makes the audience to crave for the next season. Based on your description, I guess the show was cancelled unexpectedly, at least the writers and the networks didn't plan the ending nicely. Kowloonese 00:42, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- It was definitely unexpected. The behind the scenes feature on the DVDs of the second season has the cast talking about how great the second season was and how the show is getting better and better, and they definitely have no idea it's over. Pacian 05:02, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
- Since the show was taped in HDTV, I wonder are the DVDs available in widescreen format? Kowloonese 22:50, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
- No the DVDs are full screen. Pacian 05:05, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
- The Region 1 DVDs, according to Amazon.com, are anamorphic, 1.78:1 (16:9). --Christopherlin 06:16, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

- The show was ended by Showtime who wasn't producing the show, and they don't like airing good rating shows that aren't produced by them. I can't remember who produced it but I know it wasn't Showtime.
- --Xtopher 09:07, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- MGM produced it.--86.43.64.115 13:30, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- You said it was a good rating show. It is against common wisdom to cancel a good rating show. There must be some other reasons, such as strong competition at the time, labor dispute etc.. Can someone quote what the rating was and how other competitors were doing at the time? Kowloonese 20:45, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

What were some of the loose ends?
Where does it say the show was canceled?
[edit]Seems like a small point, but shouldn't that fact be stated somewhere in the article? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 02:26, 27 June 2006 (talk • contribs) Landroo.
Cannon facts
[edit]From the current edit: "Reapers have no special powers except fast healing, yet at one point reapers sit on a virtually unclimbable tower in the middle of the city without being noticed in broad daylight."
In the pilot, Ruben explains to George that he (and other reapers) can choose to be corporeal or not corporeal. The part about being on top of a building isn't explained, but the rest is :) -Kf4hzu 05:32, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, Rube states (in the first episode) that as an undead person, he has a physical body, and if he chooses he can interact with the living, not that he chooses (or not chooses) to have a physical body.--66.189.252.154 06:47, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
- Kf4hzu, I think you mean "canon" facts (A cannon is a gun; canon is something entirely different) and "corporeal" form. :) Runa27 07:52, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
- Kf4zhu, Reapers can interact with the living (IE: Talk) but they are not supposed to (Interferance). The only ability they have is healing. They cant change there state etc. Matthew Fenton (contribs) 07:55, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
Sci-Fi Channel is running an expanded version of DLM.
[edit]Dead Like Me premiered on Sci-Fi Channel on July 18th, 2006 with the pilot episode. However the episode is now two hours long and includes many of the deleted scenes featured on the DVD release. Some of the new scenes are George getting her new identity papers at the DMV (BTW... There is no DMV in Seattle. Here it's the Department of Licensing or DOL.), George seeing the Plague Boys in the park, George seeing other reapers during a bus ride and numerous other smaller scenes. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 03:54, 19 July 2006 (talk • contribs) 70.57.68.12.
- Thanks for the tip, I'll set my DVR on Sci-Fi channel. I've already seen the first season on Showtime in HDTV, watching it again on SciFi in standard TV would really "blur" my memory. :-) I look forward to the second season that I missed. Kowloonese 00:17, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
