Notability
[edit]I have added some references and comments re Notability below
Daxton has appeared on the Australian Blues "top 25" charts several times.
- Evidence link - http://www.bluesbeatradio.com/ozchart.htm
- I think this fulfils criteria 2 in the Music notability criteria. Yes/No?
Performed on national Australian music tour
- Evidence 2011 Sydney Blues and Roots Festival | Sydney Blues festival
- I think this satisfied criteria Music notability
Performed in the Band "The baby baby baby baby yeah yeah yeah" with notable Sydney Musicians
- Evidence 1. Link to video clip of gig, Gig notice at venue, 3, See in page links to other musician's wikipedia sites
- I think this satisfied criteria 6 of Music notability criteria. Yes/No?
Award in a significant music industry competition
- Won an award at ISC
- Evidence - http://www.songwritingcompetition.com/previouswinners
- Satisfied rule 9 of the criteria?
Performed work in a TV show
- Evidence - Dollhouse per the in page link
- Satisfies criteria 10 of the rules for Music notability
Played on TV in Australia
- Recieves regular airplay on Australian Country Music station CMC (couldn't find a direct link but you can search and find him in their playlist.)
- Satisfies criteria 11?
Also
- Minor press coverage from local newspaper (insufficient on its own)
Unfortunately the guy doesn't seem to good with managing his press profile, but he does get hundreds of people to shows in the greater Sydney area, which seems to indicate a reasonable notability in Australia, esp in the blues and country music community. Comments
- How is Blues Beat Radio a suitable chart? How is this an example of a national music chart? In what way is it equivalent to ARIA Albums Chart?
- The phrase 'several times' is misleading if all information is for the same release: Tall Thin Lily?
- He appeared at the Sydney Blues & Roots Festival in 2011 (as one of over 50 artists). How does the source support the claim of a 'national concert tour'?
- How is YouTube a reliable source?
- Daxton, himself, is not mentioned at Annandale Hotel source. How does this support claim of notability?
- 'won an award' is misleading. The songwriting award was won by Suzie Vinnick and Dan Kershaw with 2nd & 3rd listed followed by some 11 additional artists with an 'honorable mention' – note not same as 'admirable mention' in article. Daxton is not the winner but he placed a major competition. This gets Criterion 9.
- What does 'per the in page link' actually mean? Claims such as these require an inline citation on the page where the claim is made and a wikilink to another article is not sufficient. In any case, the Dollhouse article does not mention Daxton nor "Moody Liz". A better source is required to verify this claim. e.g. Fix the wL to Music in Dollhouse and the ref to here. Of itself, this would not be sufficiently notable for an article: read Criterion 10.
- How is CMC a national TV network? Proper search details required if a direct link to the search results is not available. I searched here for Two Roads but "No results found!" A search for Daxton has two results: he's on their play list. However, there is insufficient evidence for claim of 'Receives regular airplay'.
- The Gosford newspaper is only local coverage.
- Summary: he is notable enough but much of the above requires more work to make it accessible and verifiable.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 00:02, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
Additionally
- Is 'Daxton Kalhoohan Monaghan' another alias?
- Does Daxton have two (or more) albums released on major labels? The discography lists EPs alongside studio albums, appearances on compilations or soundtracks. Check that all of the listed recordings are actual studio albums. I can't see any information on his record label(s).
- Who else is in Sweet Lips? I see two other guitarists and a drummer at "One Way Ride" on NME website.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 00:02, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
