Considering nationalist and anti-Semitic rhetoric would classification of it as "far-right" be accurate?
[edit]Concerning ideological classification. 78.58.62.240 (talk) 20:47, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- I agree with classification as far-right, or at least “economic:centre-left; social:far-right” Rares Kosa (talk) 10:32, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
Abbreviation: NA or PPNA?
[edit]I don't want to co-start an edit war about this, so please explain why we should use the official legal abbreviation "PPNA" in the case of a party abbreviation, but not the much more popular in the media abbreviation "NA"? And on the other hand, why in this case the article and its title do not reflect the official name of the party "Political party „Dawn of Nemunas“", but just "Dawn of Nemunas"?
Since the abbreviation NA is generally more common in sources than the abbreviation PPNA (as well as "Dawn of Nemunas" instead of "Political party "Dawn of Nemunas"), I don't understand why we should use PPNA but not NA.

- i support NA Braganza (talk) 20:02, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- The article name is based on consensus on convience for easier discovery, see WP:CRITERIA, if an alternative is widely used. You can see read further on WP:Official names and there are more specific further links. That is why the full name
isshould be placed in the lead section, but not the article's name. I'm not aware of any similar policies for other factual information, but feel free to introduce any. As thus as far as for the usage of PPNA, it's the officially used acronym, per the registered name being Politinė partija "Nemuno Aušra", not only the last two words as sometimes is described. Respublik (talk) 20:24, 16 October 2024 (UTC) - I agree with Braganza - we should use NA, as to reflect a much more commonly used acronym. It is beyond any doubt that PPNA should be included in the article as the official abbreviation, but on Wikipedia itself NA should be our default as the reflection of what is generally used by the media. - I would support NA too. In a lot of countries all parties put 'Political Party' at the beginning, but it is not relevant to keep that in. It also is overly long and complex for an abbreviation. Quinby (talk) 09:13, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Quinnnnnby this is not the case, as demonstrated in the source #12. Only 5 parties of the 70+ (6 with one pheonix - out of 79 entries) has that in the name; several others had it under a previous name, before changing it – in either case that is a significant minority out of all registered parties. - I figure the current situation makes sense, PPNA is what's used officially by the electoral commission, and external sources tend to use NA. – GlowstoneUnknown (Talk) 11:34, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
- I have included several sources that demonstrate the use of the PPNA, including the use of it in regular speech, in contrast to the majority of typical examples that only includes the abbrevation in a paragraph or simply a list summarizing election results. While both are certaintly valid and must be included in the article per revelance, as Brat Forelli noted, I don't think that it'd be necessary to alter the existing usage within Wikipedia, nor that it demonstrates a significally more common use, compared with the case of the party name being shortened.
- Seems more like the case of an unsettled use due to the party's age (9 months), where in some sources it is abbreviated from the common name, while others used the official version - even within the same publications. Respublik (talk) 14:18, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
- I think "NA" is what should be used. "Political party" is a reddundancy. The abbreviation most commonly used in Lithuania is "NA" (Nemuno Aušra), too. 213.197.146.62 (talk) 16:50, 10 November 2024 (UTC)
