Another Believer, PDX sure has tons of restos eh? Sad to see this one go (looks better than Delta). Will come back with a pyramid of comments! GeraldWL 16:17, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- Gerald Waldo Luis, Thanks! Yes, Portland is quite the food destination (pre-COVID, of course). Looking forward to your comments. ---Another Believer (Talk) --Another Believer (Talk) 16:24, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
Lead
[edit]- So "tavern" is a new word to me, and the WP page of tavern says that it is "a place of business where people gather to drink alcoholic beverages and be served food, and (historically) where travelers would receive lodging." Perhaps it's better to call DST a tavern. If no, I suggest having "Tavern" on See also. GeraldWL 16:46, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- Gerald Waldo Luis, Davis Street Tavern never offered lodging, and I don't recall sources specifically referring to the restaurant as such. If there are sources calling the restaurant a tavern I would not be opposed to adding. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:50, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- Another Believer, what about the part of "and be served food"? Although... yeah... "a place of business." I dunno. But I think it would be fine to have "tavern" on See also to let readers know that a tavern also refers to something in the culinary world. GeraldWL 16:54, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

- "opened the expansive restaurant" What do you mean "expansive"? GeraldWL 17:07, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- Gerald Waldo Luis, Large, or spacious. Several sources commented on the large dining areas. ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:08, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- Another Believer, but is it worthy of mention in the lead tho? Unless it's the A380 and sources talked about how it is the first fully-double-deck plane, I don't see the lead-worthiness of many sources saying it's big. Could just be saved for the body. GeraldWL 17:19, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- Gerald Waldo Luis, Sounds good. Removed. ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:19, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

Description
[edit]- "a beige hipness for fortysomething professionals". I don't understand what this means. GeraldWL 16:46, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- Gerald Waldo Luis, This is how someone described the interior decor. I'm not exactly sure how the color Beige applies for professionals in their 40s, but that's what the source says... ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:52, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- Another Believer, a lot of these foodies love using such jargony poems, argh. Whatever, maybe we can give readers daily dose of challenges. GeraldWL 16:58, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

Menu
[edit]The sentences starting off with "The" sounds like the object has been talked previously above. I suggest changing to:
Hanger steaks came with green chili pepper hollandaise sauce and home fries, and pulled pork sandwich served with blue cheese potato salad. Aeared chicken breast came with macaroni and cheese, pancetta, and broccolini, and pan-fried quail was served with hazelnut and quinoa stuffing, topped with marionberry gastrique, as well as escarole. Steamed mussels were served in a "Thai-inspired, tom kha-esque" broth. The Caesar salad had Romaine lettuce, boquerones, parmesan, and toasted focaccia croutons. A "slightly caramel-sweet" Dungeness crab bisque and sautéed squash were also on the menu. The dessert menu included chèvre cheesecake.

[edit]- "Chehalem Mountains Winegrowers..." Perhaps link to "Chehalem Mountains Winegrowers"? GeraldWL 16:46, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- "and a three-course prix fixe.." Maybe italicize "prix fixe"? GeraldWL 16:46, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
Reception
[edit]- Link "Eater Portland"? GeraldWL 16:46, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
- Gerald Waldo Luis, "Eater Portland" is already linked in the Events section. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:55, 27 November 2020 (UTC)

@Gerald Waldo Luis: In this edit, is the markup "|author=|title=|source=" needed? ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:09, 27 November 2020 (UTC)
