Promotional Tone/Possible Conflict of Interest
[edit]Right now this article reads strongly like promotion. There should be more biographical info and less salesy talk ("fastest-growing magazine"/"landed the biggest get ever"/etc.). Any assertions such as those mentioned should be cited (e.g., what third-party organization says the mag is the fastest-growing?).
If you have any questions about how to make this article encyclopedic, ask or start with Wikipedia:Wikipedia in brief.
(Note: I'm granting that the subject is notable; others may disagree.) HelpnWP (talk) 00:37, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- Tracking edits to Men's Health-related articles, it looks like someone with a vested interest is "maintaining" the pages. It may be time to recommend speedy deletion. HelpnWP (talk) 19:58, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with both of the above as well as HelpnWP's observation that the subject is notable enough to warrant an article. The possibility of a conflict of interest is troubling, though many WP articles originate with similar flaws, for example, WP:Copyright. It's our job then to clean up and police the page, which I'll do and hope others will help. In the interest of readers and WP standards, a template alluding to these concerns appears to be in order. Fitness expert?
[edit]What credentials does this man have that makes him a fitness expert?Dumaka (talk) 17:55, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- Zincenko is a "fitness expert" because he plays the game of "Media Darling" very well. He's written books and is the editor of a widely circulated magazine with high sales numbers and healthy financials. He is a recognized authority on national broadcast television shows. One doesn't need a degree in science, nutrition or P.E., a masters, or even a PhD, or certification by a board, to attain this level of media stardom for the recognition. Now if he was out there promoting fad diets, questionable practices or other forms of Quackery, then you would have a valid point. But no one is claiming he has puffed up his qualifications, or called to questions his methods or findings. 68.252.62.180 (talk) 13:12, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
- lol I was reading some of this guy's stuff. He is not a fitness expert at all. 71.255.94.205 (talk) 05:05, 31 August 2010 (UTC)
