BLP query/concerns
[edit]Skookum1 seems concerned about speculation, despite this being a settled court case, with no appeal ever filed.
Bingogate is a well documented historical legacy that some people would rather forget or revise.
"Stupich's wife and daughter were also charged. But, as part of a complex plea bargain, the charges against them have been stayed. They'll perform 200 hours of community service. That also applies to Joe Denofreo, a former NDP party official."
"Only Mr. Stupich, Ms. Marlow and Mr. Stupich’s daughter, Marjorie Boggis, had detailed knowledge of NCHS financial affairs,” concludes the Parks Report.
Community service is at the lower end of the scale for criminal offence sanctions, but it does reflect an admission of misconduct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.180.149.46 (talk) 20:55, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- Like all experienced Wikipedians, I am concerned with WP:BLP - the rules on biographies of living persons - and any statements that may not have citable background or which are distorted in being rendered; if they're not that's fine, it's just great care has to be taken with what is said, re liability issue for wikipedia as a whole. Partisan distortions of news citations are common in Wikipedia, sometimes infamously so; provided what is said here is in the citations and the citations are valid, I have no problem with the material. "Just checking". Having to do so on political bio articles is de rigeur.Skookum1 (talk) 03:07, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
- It's the "revising" of history by someone's political critics that's more common than someone's p.r. machine trying to wipe or wash it. The Stupich affair is a matter of the books; but the "living people" here are the other people mentioned and it's important re BLP that what is said about them is accurate and not potentially libellious. That is all.Skookum1 (talk) 03:09, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
