Requires Update
[edit]Afternoon,
I believe there's a public interest in seeing this article expanded. Constituents may be more likely to trust an MP about whom more information is available, while media and lobbying organisations would be able to recognise Smith as an individual with whom they might share mutual interests. I note also that other Labour MPs are seeing their articles expanded, as we are now several months on from the election.
However... - here's the sting - I have a COI with editing this article and don't want to infringe Wikipedia's spirit (if not its law). I am anyway not keen to see a rolling list of achievements, which is self-effacing and vainglorious.
My suggestion is to expand his work and family background. If an editor wished to expand the article they could draw from personal information mentioned in his Parliamentary contributions at https://hansard.parliament.uk/search/MemberContributions?house=Commons&memberId=5218 (particularly his Maiden Speech) or his LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-smith-58a72b100/). They could also monitor APPGs he is involved in.
Thanks,
Have a good one! BadassFingolfin (talk) 14:16, 27 September 2024 (UTC)
