REAL CIRCUMNAVIGATION
[edit]I realised 40 years ago that all the single handed circumnavigations have not been anything like following a Great Circle and always felt it was one of the few challenges left. All the others go South from UK then travel a circle of latitude that does not come near to the length of a Great Circle. So the nearest to the real thing had to pass through the North West Passage then pass Australia, or preferably Tasmania, to skirt the Antarctic and reach the Cape of Good Hope then back to the North Atlantic.
