Great American Music/String Band
[edit]Okay, um, I have no idea where this belongs, or if it does, or whatever, but perhaps it's worth pointing out that I know Mr. Nichtern's name because he was in a band that Jerry Garcia and David Grisman and Taj Mahal were in called variously 'Great American String Band' and 'Great American Music Band'. As far as I can tell the instigator was fiddler and former Bluegrass Boy Richard Greene: http://www.richardgreene.net/about.html (he's not listed on the disambiguation page and I don't know how to wiki-ize that, sorry). Really have enjoyed the handful of GASB/GAMB tapes that there are over the years and wanted to chime in, for whatever it's worth.

Assessment comment
[edit]The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:David Nichtern/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.
I wrote this article myself, but I admit that it still has issues. In the first place, its lead section needs to be expanded, to properly summarize the article. In the second place, it needs more published third-party sources. I have a feeling there's much more to be done, but I can't think of anything else. I have rated the article as Start-class, however, because the main body of the article is over 1500 characters. Mess around with the guy in shades all you like - don't mess around with the girl in gloves! (talk) 19:24, 26 July 2008 (UTC) |
