Requesting further details/clarification about the Conflict of Interest banner placed on this page

[edit]

I would kindly request that the Wikipedian who added this particular banner elaborates upon their specific reason(s) for concluding that I might have a personal or paid professional connection the chef, author and food blogger, David Lebovitz, who has lived in Paris, France for 20 years, and is a complete stranger to me. Thank you, in advance for taking the time to explain, @Ratnahastin:

I can declare that I borrowed Lebovitz' 2017 book about his experiences with the Paris real estate business from my local public library. After that, I think I was the editor that made him a red-link on the various Wikipedia pages where he was referenced, several years ago: Wikipedia:Red link.

If you are looking for a way to expand on how you engage with Wikipedia, User:Ratnahastin, if you are not already doing so, I urge you to consider getting involved with training the next generation of Wikipedians. When we run Wikipedia editathons for students, a large part of the training includes reviewing the Conflict of Interest guidelines for Wikipedia editing: Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Why has this page been flagged?

[edit]

I'm currently sitting in Paris reading this article. It reads as a balanced account and is similar to https://www.francetraveltips.com/an-american-in-paris-following-david-lebovitz/ in praise for this well known chef. It seems really odd the article has been flagged for conflict of interest as there seems no basis for this. A Culham (talk) 17:05, 26 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
