Birth details

[edit]

I usually include an external link to the congress website with these articles. The link would have been Congress bioguide. I didn't this time because of some confusing differences. The detail I used in the article conforms with Appleton's Biographies, the Dictionary of American Biography, and data from the University of Pennsylvania. This date (1747) makes more sense than 1730 in terms of other dated material.

This isn't the first mistake I've found in the Congressional bioguide. I have let them know, and after research they may correct it. Even if they do, it takes 12 to 18 months. Lou I 23:38, 25 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Incorrect Information

[edit]

I've never contributed to Wikipedia, so I am unsure how to proceed with an edit to change information that seems to be in error. The Genealogy of the Jackson Family [1] states that his father was Joseph, not Samuel. His Daughter of the American Revolution (DAR) record [2] states that he was married to Elizabeth Reed, not Jane Mathers, and he did not have a brother named Paul, (see my first link). He also does not appear to have been married to Susan Kemper, or have 9 children with her, though, his 1st wife did die young, I see no source that supports this. Also, his Find a Grave link (under the Wikipedia external link) supports this, too. Would someone please assist in correcting this and adding citations, please? It would be much appreciated.
