Discussion of tenure at Northwestern
[edit]I removed a section that basically uses materials prepared by Van Zandt's staff to praise him.
I think that some discussion of his very controversial tenure should be included, but I am not going to write it because:
1. I lack sufficient knowledge and
2. I am cautious about including negative information on a personal bio page.
Here is a link which conveys one perspective on what happened: http://leiterlawschool.typepad.com/leiter/2011/03/reflections-on-the-van-zandt-era-at-northwestern-an-interview-with-ronald-j-allen.htmlJsolinsky (talk) 14:18, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
Personal Life
[edit]The section devoted to his personal life is, in a word, hilarious. "Having obtained some of the strict, hard-working attitude from his father, David excelled in his youth ..."? One needn't be well-versed in the rules of Wikipedia to know that sentence doesn't belong within ten miles of an encyclopedic entry.74.138.41.50 (talk) 18:03, 7 February 2013 (UTC)
