[edit]I started try to put together an article on Cmapbell some time ago, but there was one source I wanted to look at which I couldn't get hold of, and I rather ground to a halt. Still, it's a slightly fuller account of the earlier part of his life than is currently available here. See User:David Underdown/David Campbell (British Army officer). - Your version looks pretty comprehensive to me: I should retain the infobox including photo that I have assembled but otherwise just use your text in its entirity Dormskirk (talk) 23:16, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Excuse me if I'm blundering in as this is the first time I have ever volunteered a correction, but I have the Sheppard reference open in front of me and a picture caption and the slightly unclear text seem to say the famous charge was on the 7th September 1914. Apologies if I've managed to misunderstand a) your page, b) the reference — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roxiehart01 (talk • contribs) 16:39, 22 December 2011 (UTC)
- Apologies for the extremely delayed reply. It does indeed seem to have been the 7th, now corrected. David Underdown (talk) 10:45, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
