"Acting"?
[edit]No charter provision makes him the "acting" mayor; it's just that he is serving under a provision that allows him to serve only until the next general election (August 2018); until then he is just as much mayor as any of his predecessors have been. 72.106.154.89 (talk) 02:48, 18 March 2018 (UTC)

Lawsuit
[edit]The statement that the suit was filed by Briley's opponents is not really correct; it was filed by people who were interested in seeing the Metro Charter interpreted literally as it is written. It was probably to Briley's advantage for the special election to be held so soon after his being sworn in as acting mayor rather than giving opposing candidates time to gain name recognition and momentum, so this is worded poorly. 2600:1004:B114:E9EA:3454:E508:FA19:7723 (talk) 03:03, 29 March 2019 (UTC)
