Clarity
[edit]The sentence "Berman then sent for his wife and children.". David Berman's father is never given a name, and the article is about David Berman. It should qualify that it was David's father that sent for his wife and children. I assume that is what the sentence means, otherwise the rest of the article leads the reader to conclude that David had a wife and children at the age of 13. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:723B:E600:453E:D489:3E5D:3981 (talk) 17:31, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
Musician??
[edit]I added the {{Template:Disputed-category}} tag in regard to the Category:Musicians born in Ukraine because there is nothing in the article to confirm that he was in fact a musician. Cgingold 10:46, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Donald??
[edit]Where is his first name indicated as being "Donald"?
Unless this can be substantiated, I am going to remove the "Donald" as his first name. The bio written by his daughter has to be considered authoritative and I do not believe she mentions Donald as a first name.--Jrm2007 05:32, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Donald was his given name, he changed it when he was a teen as Don was a "sissy" name Susie does mention this in her "Easy Street" book! I am Davy Berman, "Chickie" Berman's son. 17th Feb. 2008.216.228.185.135 (talk) 13:37, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
I apologize. Since you are his nephew, perhaps you can also address the Genovese connection -- I believe the timing is wrong -- too early.--Jrm2007 (talk) 08:14, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Let's use use some logic here. Was Donald on the top 10 baby name list in turn of the century Odessa?Unclelooney (talk) 15:13, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
The 1910 census for Ashley, North Dakota reports Don Berman, age 9, as a son of David Berman, age 37. David's wife is reported as Clara, age 33. There are four other children in the family, including Lilly, Max, Dena and Isedore (sic). They range in age from one to 13. David Berman migrated from Russia in 1903. Isedore was born in North Dakota and the remainder of the family migrated in 1907. David Berman received a land patent in 1908 on a 160 acre farm north of Ashley. They apparently moved into the town of Ashley between 1908 and 1910. This raises questions about some of the background information. It appears that Don/Davy is older than is reported in the Wiki piece. The article erroneously places the family in South Dakota. The largest group of settlers in the Ashley area were Germans who migrated from the Odessa region of the Ukraine, but there was a sizeable minority of Jewish settlers from the same region.----
Did anyone else notice all the inconsistancies in Easy street and Murder of a Mafia Daughter: The Life and Tragic Death of Susan Berman? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Unclelooney (talk • contribs) 15:21, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
It's got his cause of death as dying on the operating table during open heart surgery. Where did THAT come from??? His daughter's book says he died on the operating table during an operation to remove polyps from his colon. Also, I don't even think Las Vegas HAD open heart surgery back in 1957. So, I'm going to change it from open heart surgery to operation to remove polyps from his colon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.159.186 (talk) 00:44, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

This is a reasonable article drawing from Susan Berman's autobio. Important is that the photo is clearly NOT of David Berman. |
