Devilfish
[edit]I added a line about another meaning of the term devilfish. I don't think it needs a seperate page. Masa 08:08, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
5k to 83k in two hands? say WHAT?
[edit]On one day he bought into a table for $5,000 and in the space of two hands worked it up to $83,000.
This claim is absurdly ridiculous, and I have removed it. Though I suppose it is mathematically possible, it is highly improbable. Plus there is no source cited. Out it goes, unless someone can provide some proof of it and an explanation as well. SmartGuy 21:16, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Rockerfella Vintage
h. Stewart Reuben, in his book _Poker Twenty-four Seven_ says that Ulliot was generally not a winner in London cash-games when they both played PLO and London Lowball there. Of course, this doesn't mean he could not have made a big score like this.65.79.173.135 (talk) 16:55, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Will in New Haven65.79.173.135 (talk) 16:55, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]The highly dubious allegations in the "Early Life & Criminal Activities" (giving the police hand relief, being a member of the Crash Test Dummies, being sodomised in a police cell and losing a limb in a fight - don't know which is more embarassing) would suggest that some libelous vandalism has taken place. Perhaps someone who knows more about the subject than me should make some corrections pronto... Martan 21:16, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
Short Film
[edit]It says hes gonna appear in a short film in 2006.... has he?
Date of birth
[edit]Sources disagree over Ulliott's date of birth, both the date/month and the year:
- This source says "April 1"
- these three sources [1], [2], [3] say "January 4 1954"
- apparently Swimming with the Devilfish (Wilson, Des (2006), Macmillan, ISBN 1-4050-8952-0) lists his year of birth as 1962 (I don't have access to this source so I can't confirm that)
I think the "April 1"/"January 4" discrepancy is probably the old American vs British date format thing. DH85868993 14:57, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Swimmingwiththedevilfish.jpg
[edit]Image:Swimmingwiththedevilfish.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Ernie Els comparison from inside poker
[edit]Calling something "a bit stupid" falls under original research as it your opinion which isn't encyclopedic, there are many actions that we might view to be stupid personally however our opinions should not and must not be included , be it a Poker Player, an actor or a President. as far as the article,if you read the source it states that this was something said by a golfing partner named Williamson comparing his skills as a poker player to that of a pro golfer not his nationality, people of different nations race or sex may be compared in their field a written article to someone else in a different field without respect to nation but that their skills. ▪◦▪≡SiREX≡Talk 23:20, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
Page Reads Like a Brag
[edit]Most of his "exploits" are quoted from his biography which is anything by scientific or credible. Also lots of details about his poker career are of little relevance and, for professional poker players, not actually very notable. They all sound like "wow he's so good he made X money" or "wow he's so good he knew how to fold a good hand when he's beat" and so on. --86.17.70.26 (talk) 15:38, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
For instance: "In the UK, Ulliott is such a household name that he has been name-dropped in EastEnders, and in the inaugural edition of PokerPlayer magazine, Ulliott was not only on the front cover, but also voted #9 on their (worldwide) Top 10 Poker Legends List.[33][34]"
Oh the irony. --86.17.70.26 (talk) 15:40, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
Number of children.
[edit]The article says he had seven children, but his obituary in The Times says eight, including one by his third wife whom he married in 2011. - Arwel Parry (talk) 08:10, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
