Correction in edit summary
[edit]In the page move of David C. Treen to Dave Treen, the edit summary was intended to state: in the manner of Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton [not Bill Carter], Dick Thornburgh and many others, the subject referred to himself as "Dave" and is thus referenced in his obituaries—Roman Spinner (talk) 17:27, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
Sources
[edit]Surely Treen in his groundbreaking election and later career was covered by some newspaper other than the Minden Herald. Surely the New Orleans and other papers covered these state contests. There is too much reliance on this source. Editors should look for additional material from other sources. Also, do not add quotes without cites to RS. They can and will be deleted for lack of sourcing.Parkwells (talk) 17:29, 6 March 2016 (UTC)

Request page move to David Treen
[edit]Treen is commonly known as Dave Treen, but his actual name is David Treen as appears on all official records and many outlets refer to him as such during his time as Governor and in Congress. I think this page ought to be moved to "David Treen", given Dave Treen is an informal nickname and not up to encyclopedic standards. Irishpolitical (talk) 09:27, 14 July 2018 (UTC)
- Sure. We'll get to that right after we've moved Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter. Until then I guess WP:COMMONNAME might apply. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 10:39, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
