History

Interesting stuff, I'd never heard of this game before. This article might benefit from something about the history of the game. I note that there seems to be a church connection - is this to do with Prohibition, and the association of regular darts with pubs/drinking? PRB (talk) 14:22, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

i think that the church connection is two-fold. i read a piece where the president of Apex in the 1920's said that the game as spread by Johnny Appleseed types, which included Lutheran ministers taking their dartball boards with them as they moved from congregation to congregation. so, the game took root in the social circles of the churches.

plus, the game takes up too much space to make it tavern friendly, so you need a hall to play it in. that can keep the game out of the tavern/drinking environment. Tgbob (talk) 19:56, 14 May 2008 (UTC) Tgbob
