[edit]I'm working with Darryl Read himself on getting this article created on here... . He owns the copyrights to this and the Crushed Butler articles. Help is appreciated! Thank you Automaticshoes (talk) 17:20, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
This is Darryl Read here, and I am working with Matt Hughs (Automaticshoes) as well as Julie Rex, both whom are trying to supply updated version of my biographical information. Content such as pages of cdbaby references are from my own pages with them, as they distribute my recording works. In case of AMG (all music guide) by Ralph Heibutzki is AMG copyright but is of public domain. In this such case I have created a sub page; in case you believe this to be a copyright infringement of my own biographical details. In the case of my main biographical details on my home page of www.darrylread.com --- written by Clive Zone for me, please rest assured that this mail stream is my copyright, and therefore essential in my biographical history and details as also laid out on the Internet Movie Data Base, details of which we should also like to include at some point. Please advise any further edits or deletions you would like us to do. Yours sincerely Darryl Read (catwizard777) (CatWizard777 (talk) 22:21, 27 September 2009 (UTC))

- I'm uncertain what you mean by "In case of AMG (all music guide) by Ralph Heibutzki is AMG copyright but is of public domain." AMG clearly reserves all rights to text, here. They permit links, but do not permit republication of text, much less modification. Your biographical details are not copyrightable, but the language that sets them forth is. Since AMG is copyrighted and you do not indicate permission from AMG to license this material, that page has been deleted and your temporary page put in place. However, since we do not yet have usable license for that temporary page, it is also blanked. It will be revisited in about a week to see if usable license has been supplied. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:08, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Improvements required
[edit]I have added several sources to the article but there are still a lot of claims that are not sourced. The tone is also inappropriate - it reads like a memoir, largely because it is, and it needs to be copyedited to have a more encyclopedic tone.--Michig (talk) 20:20, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
- Michig if the tone was a major conflict in this article, surely would have been pointed out some years ago, and discussed or rectified. Looks to me as if you are looking for excuses to flood this page with templates. You also have not answered previous questions on this page. Perhaps if you are fanatically concerned of this Darryl Read page, you can perhaps put the copyediting right. I sincerely wish that you could help with this page - rather than hinder. As I have mentioned before why dont you edit this page to make it work - for your personal criteria - I have also asked you if wish I should delete the two specific sections: Poetical Beginnings and Hollywood Underground as this was what you seemingly had a problem about them not having enough sources. We could also re-edit the two sections to fit your criteria, as I have mentioned before it has up to now fitted Wikipedias standards.CatWizard777 (talk) 18:16, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
- I have already added several sources to the article and fixed a lot of the formatting, which has improved it. Many articles get deleted after being here several years, so it's hardly unusual to have issues pointed out after a similar time. Why do you insist on using language like 'fanatically concerned' and referring to my 'personal criteria'? Could you try to be more constructive? I would be happy to copyedit it to make the tone more neutral and encyclopedic, but not if I am going to get accused of sabotaging your work or 'misusing powers'. It's up to you. Other editors coming across the article might decide to simply remove all of the unsourced claims. You need to appreciate that text such as "Read ventured into the underground world of rock 'n' roll", "where they blew the top band Osibisa off the stage with their ferociously aggressive, energetic, uptempo raw and improvised blend of rock and roll", "Unable to compromise with the acting industry, the music business or anything else that didn't spell freedom", "Read continues to be prolific as an artist, and something of a rock 'n' roll underground enigma, with a large portion of Beat poetry thrown in" is not suitable for an encyclopedia article. It needs to stick to the facts more.--Michig (talk) 21:08, 15 January 2012

Ok Michig - I now see what you are getting at - and agree with the lines from the article you have quoted here, they do need to formatted or edited. I would be grateful if you could put the article and its detail into encyclopaedic form, and copyedit it, as I am sure you are experienced in this field - whereas I am not, and thanks for the offer. I thought that I had the encyclopaedic form right, which it appears after three years I have not. I have mentioned, without seeing this section - on your own page, that a couple of additions you have made are not correct, but I am sure we can iron all this out. Thanks again for your help. CatWizard777 (talk) 06:24, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
- I've had a first go at removing some of the more obviously problematic text from the article. I think the next step should be to do some significant trimming - there's too much detail that isn't really important to the article. --Michig (talk) 15:34, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
Very good Michig, and I hope you can do the same for Remember a Day - thanks again ```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by CatWizard777 (talk • contribs) 18:58, 2 February 2012 (UTC) CatWizard777 (talk) 23:56, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
