Fair use rationale for Image:DarkonTheMovie.jpg

[edit]

Image:DarkonTheMovie.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

NPOV

[edit]

As it currently stands, the text of this article (as below) serves as a personal abuse of the people depicted in the film.

The strangest type of black comedy, the desire to laugh at the people featured in the movie fades quickly, and the desire to pity them takes over. The documentary focuses on a group of socially mal-adjusted misfits who use the world of pretend as an escape from their self-described tedious, boring, or otherwise miserable lives.

It cleverly points out how escape through fantasy can only serve to make real life problems worse, as several of the major characters have massive real life problems they ignore in favor or pretending to be someone else.

The viewer is left not knowing if he should laugh at the over done seriousness put towards a game of pretend, or cry over the sea of isolation, loneliness, and misery that surrounds the major characters.

I feel this violates the Neutral Point of View guidelines established by Wikipedia. As far as I can tell, it was not the intention of the filmmakers to portray them as "mal-adjusted misfits". Rather this is an extrapolation made by some (possibly the majority) of viewers. I'd suggest serious revision and am therefore adding a NPOV tag. Somerut (talk) 09:01, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's nonsense periodically added by an anonymous IP -- no need to discuss it in any detail, just delete it (as I've done before). AnonMoos (talk) 09:54, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Didn't realize, should have checked. Thanks Somerut (talk) 05:46, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
