Change requests

[edit]

Hi all. I'm the Director of Brand and Creative for Daon. I noticed that there were a number of issues with this article, so I would like to request some changes. I want to emphasize the importance of this with the proliferation of Generative AI tools as a number of them, including ChatGPT4, are using your articles as a source of truth.

1. While I know that resources can be found on the web that say anything from 1999 to 2002, the correct year of founding for the company is 2000. The Daon website (https://www.daon.com/about-us/) would be the best citation for that, since, as a privately held company, there is no requirement for that to be published elsewhere. I wish I could provide a third-party company overview that is correct, but all of them have at least one thing wrong.

2. There are references in both the company information box and the Overview to DaonEngine, and the overview also lists DaonEnroll, DaonAnalytics, and Credential Connect. None of those products exist anymore. You can refer to https://www.daon.com/products/ for a current product list.

3. The entire overview section is extremely out of date (note the citations from 2006 and 2013). The entire first paragraph is generally inaccurate as, beyond the product issue, we've moved from primarily providing border security. Our client base is now heavily weighted to financial services companies, though we also serve a number of other industries and still provide some border control.

The IdentityX section is generally accurate, though IdentityX now provides more than just authentication and it's no longer our only platform, so it seems odd to single it out.

4. To bring the history section of the article up to date, it should probably mention the launch of TrustX and xSentinel (which is going to have a name change at the end of July 2024), both in 2023. Here are references.

5. Our customers prefer not to be named as, since we provide identity access security, naming the technology being used gives fraudsters the first step in trying to crack the security. The running rule is, if a customer can't be found here: https://www.daon.com/customers/, they should not be mentioned. You'll note that none of the 4 mentioned are found there.

Thanks in advance for helping us make things more accurate. Scott Ellis Daon (talk) 22:33, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
