Demographics

So what is this about the population? For every 100 females there are 500 some odd males? That is crazy. Are they counting the prison population in the cited census stats or what? I mean, I grew up there and I seem to remember things differently. -- (This article was signed by User:Saracanite on 04:25, 29 April 2006)

The US Census considers the prison population to be counted as residents, which is why the population for males are so high. This is also why Dannemora is the second largest community in the Adirondack Park. --Riley 02:41, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
